Door Swap in Horam – Before & After Kitchen Transformation

We recently returned to a repeat customer in Horam to give their kitchen a fresh new look with a simple but effective door swap.

The existing kitchen itself was in good condition, and the granite worktops were still perfect, so there was no need to replace them. The main issue was the kitchen doors, which the customers had inherited from the previous owners and simply didn’t like.

Rather than replacing the whole kitchen, we focused on the part they wanted to change – the doors.

Before: A Kitchen That Needed a Fresh Look

As you can see from the before photos, the existing kitchen had plenty of potential. The granite worktops were in great condition and worked well with the existing layout.

However, the original doors weren’t to the customers’ taste.

This is where a kitchen door swap can make such a big difference. By keeping the existing kitchen and worktops and changing the doors, you can completely alter the look and feel of the room without undertaking a full kitchen replacement.

The New Kitchen Doors

For this project, our customers chose Austerhouse Finchley doors in Oak Dust Grey.

The Oak Dust Grey finish gives the kitchen a much softer, more contemporary appearance, while the Finchley door style provides a clean and timeless look.

We think the new doors work particularly well with the existing granite worktops, creating a completely different feel while making use of the parts of the original kitchen that the customers were happy with.

Re-fitting the Undermount Sink

There was also another job to take care of while we were there.

The existing undermount sink had dropped, so Charlie re-fitted it to get it sitting correctly again.

As the granite worktops were being retained, making sure the sink was properly re-fitted was an important part of finishing the project.

After: A Completely Different Look

The finished kitchen is a great example of how much difference new kitchen doors can make.

The customer was able to keep their existing granite worktops and kitchen layout while getting rid of the doors they didn’t like.

The new Austerhouse Finchley Oak Dust Grey doors give the kitchen a fresh, modern appearance without the need for a complete kitchen refit.

Before & After: Door Swap in Horam

This project is a great reminder that you don’t always need to start from scratch to transform your kitchen.

If your kitchen is still in good condition but the doors are dated, damaged or simply not your style, a door swap can be a cost-effective way to give the room a completely new look.

For this Horam customer, keeping the granite worktops and changing the doors was the perfect solution – and as a repeat customer, we’re delighted they came back to us for another project.
