10K for 10 Years – Running with Love, Remembering Grandad Riggs

On Sunday, 25th May 2025, Zoe, Adam, and Georgia took on a challenge that was far more than just a race. They ran the Race for Life 10K in memory of their beloved grandad, Dave — a man whose warmth, strength, and quiet wisdom left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. This year marks ten years since he passed, and this run was their way of honouring his life, his legacy, and the love he gave so freely.

Grandad Dave wasn’t just family — he was the heartbeat of Riggzy’s in its earliest days. He stood beside his son Simon and daughter-in-law Annette as they opened the original showroom, lending his hands, his time, and his spirit. Whether he was helping Simon on site or simply sitting with Annette between customers, he was always there — steady, kind, and full of quiet encouragement.

Ten years on, the pain of his absence is still felt deeply. So, to mark this milestone, Zoe, Adam, and Georgia decided to do something bold — something that would push them, unite them, and celebrate the man they miss so much. None of them are runners, but they signed up for the 10K Race for Life, determined to give it everything they had.

Their goal was simple: raise £100 each. But what happened next was extraordinary. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of family, friends, colleagues, and customers, they raised £1,190.38, including Gift Aid. Every donation, every message of support, every cheer from the sidelines was a reminder of how deeply Grandad Riggs is loved — and how his legacy continues to inspire.

This wasn’t just a run. It was a journey of remembrance, resilience, and love. And it’s not too late to be part of it. Their JustGiving pages are still live, and if you’d like to support their cause, you can choose to donate to Zoe, Adam, or Georgia’s page using the link below.

Thank you for helping us turn our grief into something powerful — and for standing with us as we ran for Grandad Dave.
